Survivor Benefit

Overview

DPMA provides a Survivor Benefit to each Member’s beneficiary in the amount of $35,000.

  • This benefit is available to active DPMA Members on the Delta seniority list.
  • The benefit will generally be paid within 48-hours of notification of a Member’s death.
  • The benefit is tax-free.

Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries can be designated using the DPMA Beneficiary Form. Completed forms should be submitted to membership@dpma.org.

If a member has not designated a beneficiary, DPMA shall name beneficiaries in the following order of priority:

  1. The Member’s spouse;
  2. If the Member has no surviving spouse, the Member’s children (including adopted children) or their descendants per stirpes;
  3. If the Member has no surviving spouse or lineal descendants, the Member’s parents;
  4. If the Member has no surviving spouse, lineal descendants or parents, the Member’s sibilings; and
  5. If the Member has no surviving spouse, lineal descendants, parents, or siblings, the Member’s estate.
